COBRA GOLF INTRODUCES NEW OPTM FAMILY OF METALWOODS, DESIGNED WITH
GROUNDBREAKING POI DESIGN
Cobra has launched its new OPTM family of metalwoods, designed to deliver one thing every golfer wants, tighter dispersion. The range features advanced technologies including POI (Product of Inertia) Shaping, Adaptive POI Weighting, H.O.T. Face and FUTUREFIT33™ adjustability.
Available in four models — OPTM LS, OPTM X, OPTM MAX-K and OPTM MAX-D — the OPTM drivers use a groundbreaking low POI design to reduce shot dispersion by up to 23 percent. Unlike MOI, which measures resistance to twisting on mishits, POI focuses on how the clubhead rotates across all axes, helping reduce gear effect and produce straighter, more accurate drives.
The result is faster, more consistent performance and tighter dispersion downrange.
Each driver in the OPTM family features AI-optimised POI shaping and adaptive weighting to improve rotational stability and fine-tune CG placement. More rounded head shapes position the CG closer to the centre, while AI-optimised external weights are strategically placed to achieve the lowest possible POI for straighter ball flight.
The OPTM LS offers a Tour-style profile for faster swingers, with adjustable weights in the high toe, mid heel and back. The OPTM X delivers a Tour-preferred shape with adjustable weighting in the toe and back. The MAX-K is the most forgiving model, featuring an oversized profile, the highest MOI and a fixed rear weight. Designed to help correct a slice, the MAX-D combines a lightweight, oversized head with built-in draw bias and a fixed heel weight.
The OPTM metalwood family features COBRA’s patented FUTUREFIT33™ adjustable hosel system, offering 33 independent loft and lie settings for precise, on-the-spot fitting anywhere, from the studio to the range.
All OPTM drivers use a multi-material construction with a lightweight carbon crown and titanium frame, while a forged H.O.T. Face insert with 15 hot spots delivers faster ball speeds and consistent distance across the face.
Available online and in On Course Pro Shops from January 20.
